Thursday Thirteen

Thursday Thirteen
Here are 13 of Braxton and Brazos' cousins. These are cousins that we have pictures of. If you do not see a cousin on here that you know the boys have it is because I DO NOT HAVE A PICTURE. You can fix this! Send me some pictures! Enjoy!

There are two cousins in this picture - Cousin Karson and little boy Schmidt - can you find him? He will be here in January!

Jaxson and Maddox Zant - we have not seen Maddox yet and have only met Jaxx once - we look forward to seeing them at the reunion in January!

These are some Cagle cousins. Faith, Katy, and Elijah. Also some cousins we have not gotten to meet in person but hope to meet them soon!
Avery Zant - We will get to see her again in January.

Cousin Parker - We will have to play soon!
More Zant cousins - Karson and Reagyn. We will get to meet them both in January also!
Sweet cousin Emaline

Mr Zachary Zant

The girl in the purple is Miss Kourtney Ellyson

The Beck Cousin Clan - Katie, Brianna, Brylie, Sarah (she shares a birthday with Brazos - they are nine years apart), Hannah, Laura, Karson, Braxton and Brazos. This is a fun bunch to get together!! And there are two more on the way - we are going to have a lot of cousins here!

Mr. Eli Grose.
Mr. Hunter Grose holding Brazos

Maci Ellyson (she and Braxton also share a birthday - they are one year apart!)
Callie Tidwell - (she is going to be a big sister soon - another cousin on the way!)

I did not number these because I think there are more than 13. We are thankful for all of our cousins and are so lucky to have the Internet so we can watch each other grow. Thanks for keeping up with us.

Wordless Wednesday

Not that I could really go Wordless! I thought I would just give you the explanations for the pictures.

This is a picture I took on Saturday morning. Just the boys hanging out on mom and dads bed. This was followed by a tickle session with dad!
Reading with dad. One of our new favorite books is Curious George. So dad took the time to read to the boys!
Our little computer geek. He went down stairs and we found him sitting at the computer working. He looks so Big.
One final picture of Andrea and the little one. Brazos is really getting big. This was at bed time.

Family Time

Saturday was a relaxing day for our family. Andrea, Braxton, Brazos, and I went to a parade and a craft fair in the morning. We came home had lunch and enjoyed a day as a family. We got to spend time with dad and Karl. It was a good day. Here are some pictures from our weekend. Dad and Brazos. Watching and listening to football. Go Aggies!
Mom and the boys. Playing outside after dinner on Saturday evening.

Braxton working with his dump truck and bulldozer. He loves to play outside. Thanks MeMe and PaPaw for the equipment. It has been put to good use!

Andrea and Brazos at the youth night on Friday night. All smiles!

The shirt says it all. Popcorn is our favorite snack right now. We do not like to eat it out of the bag but rather in a bowl. The only problem is that the bowl is always empty in the end. We get to vacuum everyday! What fun.

Thursday Thirteen

Today's Thursday Thirteen are things that make me ask Why?
1. Why do I question myself so much?
2. Why do we do things that hurt ourselves and others?
3. Why does God make children so innocent?
4. Why do I like to eat so much?
5. Why does my husband love me?
6. Why do I have such a wonderful family?
7. Why do bad things happen to good people?
8. Why do my children love me so much?
9. Why don't I take the time to study more than I do?
10. Why do I have more energy some days than others?
11. Why did God bless me with so many wonderful friends?
12. Why do I think my way is better - most of the time?
13. Why do I ask so many questions?
Today I feel like I am questioning myself on how I feel. It seems that there is a lot going on right now that make my heart heavy. I know that God is in control but I feel myself questioning the outcome. Please pray that I can find peace for myself and others. Please pray that God will always use me as a servant for him.

What color green are you?

You Are Apple Green

You are almost super-humanly upbeat. You have a very positive energy that surrounds you.
And while you are happy go lucky, you're also charmingly assertive.
You get what you want, even if you have to persuade those against you to see things your way.
Reflective and thoughtful, you know yourself well - and you know that you want out of life.

I got this fun thing off of Calissa's blog. It was fun to do. Give it a try and let me know what color green you are!

Good Week

This week has proved to be a productive week here at the Beck household! We have started another marriage class. Andy and I facilitate a marriage class and we started a new one last night. Football is underway and fall is in the air.

Braxton is feeling better and on the up. Brazos has caught his first fall cold. He has a runny nose. He is being a trooper. I hope this will pass soon.
Here is another picture of Brazos and Braxton. They are growing so fast. I have to cut this one short. I have a small one ready to get up from his nap and an older one that wants to be read to.
If you have time go and visit Calissa and see what a wonderful job she did with a video. I am not that computer savvy yet. The video is great. Thanks Calissa for doing this for these families, what a precious gift!

A week of firsts

It seems that I have not been able to keep up this week with everything that has been going on here. So in an attempt to update you on our life here is an overview.

I took this picture this morning. It is a solom picture of Brazos but it really reminds me of my dad (Da). Mom (Mama Z) has a picture of dad (Da) on the fridge at her house of dad (Da) when he was a baby - I think they look a lot a like. Though you might enjoy it as well.

This is a picture of my sweet yet sickly little boy. As I posted earlier at our check up the doctor told us that we would need to take these breathing treatments and also a dose of steroids. Braxton is such a trooper he has been taking these well. Some days it is a fight but all in all he has done very well. He is suppose to take the treatments every 4-6 hours. He is breathing a lot better and is now asking for the treatments when he needs them. Thanks for the prayers for my little boy.

This is my very messy, very sweet, little honey Brazos. He is getting so big. This week we started rice cereal. He really did not seem to mind. He has been eating well. I just think that if he does this well with rice he ought to be a good eater later when we start real food. He is such a little honey!

This is my very hip, very cool, eldest son. His name is cool daddy Braxton. He is a big boy and potty trained. He has not had a diaper on in almost two weeks. We do still use a pull up at night, but it has only been wet once. He is such a big boy! Way to go Braxton!!! (Andrea came home for lunch and left her keys and sunglasses within reach. This is what happened)

What did I do?

Okay in an attempt to find a blog of a girl I went to college with I updated my blog to a Beta Blog. Sounded like the thing to do at the time. Now I can not leave comments on other blogs if they have it for blogger users only and bloggers can not leave me comments. This really stinks! I went in and tried to make some adjustments on the blog so that I can get comments, but I am still having issues leaving comments. I have tried to switch back but blogger will not allow this. They said that all blogs will go to Beta Blogger in the next 6 months or so. The link does not work between the old version and the new. So for now I am stuck here. Please know that I am working to make this better. I love the comments and like to read them. Please bear with me! Thanks Bloggers!

Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen Things I enjoy doing.
13. Reading blogs - I love to read all the updates and see what everyone is in to. I love to find new people who I have not heard from in some time and play catch up with their families on their blogs. I enjoy blogging!
12. Having lunch with my family - My husband comes home for lunch everyday. Andrea and Karl come home for lunch everyday. Everyday we get to eat lunch as a family. I love the 30 plus minutes during the middle of the day when everyone is home. I like to fix lunch and have it ready when they get home. We get to sit, eat, and visit. It is one of my favorite times of the day.
11. Watching Braxton at the end of the workday - Braxton has an internal clock that tells him when 5:00 - 5:30 rolls around. He knows when to go to the window and watch for dad. He loves to see dad pull up and runs to the door to welcome him home. We are so thankful that dad is home.
10. Saturday mornings - Being a stay at home mom - our day is pretty routine - but Braxton knows the difference between the work week and Saturday morning. Andy says he (Braxton) decides to get up at 6:00 on Saturday as a gift to him (Andy). He is right, Braxton is excited to have dad home and not gone when he gets up. It has gotten better, but he still loves to rise early on Saturday to get the most time he can with dad.
9. Sunday mornings - This one has many reasons why I enjoy it. First I love that Andy and Braxton get up and cook Pancakes and Bacon for everyone. It is a day when I save all of my WW points so I can eat breakfast with the family. I love to hear them in the kitchen. I love to hear him (Braxton) come to my bathroom and tell me five minutes. Such sweet noises in my house.
8. Monday evening swim - Although we have not been able to go the last two weeks, we have a year round pool pass (yes the pool is indoor). We go swimming every Monday night as a family. Brazos is always shocked at how cold the water is. Braxton has no fear and loves to just jump right in. I love to watch dad and Braxton in the water. Uncle Karl and Andrea go and help with the kids. It is a wonderful time for our family.
7. Wednesdays - On Wednesdays Lisa (our ministers wife) and I trade off with Rosa and Braxton. It gives the other free time to go and get things done. I love both sides of this trade. I like to have the kids and play with them and I also like to have some free time away to get things done. Rosa and Braxton really play well together.
6. Date Nights - I love my children but once a month Andy and I try to get out for our monthly date night. We usually go eat and try to get in a movie or a fun activity. It is nice to have that time and to build on our relationship. I enjoy the time we spend together.
5. Aggie Football - I enjoy Aggie Football. I love to watch the games and cheer on our favorite team. We are brainwashing our children to love our team as well. I could really care less about most other sports but Aggie football is something we have been able to do as a family and we love to cheer on our Aggies to victory.
4. Going home - I enjoy getting all packed up and ready to go to Texas. I like to take the boys home to see their grandparents. I love that Texas will always be home no matter where we are. I like that I have family to see and visit. I always enjoy going home.
3. Visits from family and friends - as much as I enjoy going home I also enjoy when we have visitors from others. I love to watch Braxton warm up to new people and want to play. I enjoy the time we get to visit and build relationships.
2. Sisters - I enjoy the fact that I have sisters that I can talk to and be very open with. I love that I can speak my mind and know that the favor will be returned. I love that when we are done we are still friends, sisters, and part of Gods family. I love that we have such an open and honest relationship with each other.
1. Watching my children grow up in the Lord! - I love the fact that Braxton loves Bible Class. I am so thankful that he likes to go to church and see his friends. I love that he like to lead singing and tries to pray and read scripture. I am so thankful that he will be able to teach his brother all the things that he is learning. What a blessing we have in our church family. Growing kids for God should be a daily goal.
There are so many things I enjoy. I will probably do this one again. What are some things that you enjoy? Let me know!

The Boys are Changing!

Brazos had his four month check on Monday. Everything went well. He is growing and getting bigger every day. He weighed in at 14 pounds even, and was 25 1/2 inches long. They would like for him to be a little heavier for his length. We will work on that and see if we get fatten him up a bit. They want us to start cereal with him next week. I can not believe how fast he is growing! He is such a little honey. He likes to smile and flirt with everyone.
Braxton had his two year check on Tuesday. I took him on a different day so that he would not witness the shots that little brother received. He did really well. He has been wheezing so we have been hooked up with a nifty machine that helps him breath. He has to take the treatments every 4 - 6 hours. He has been doing well with that. He is also on 5 days on steroids. He is been a trooper and seems to be feeling much better! He is growing well and weighed in at 26 pounds and 10 ounces and was 34 inches tall.
One more note of interest - WE ARE OFFICIALLY POTTY TRAINED!!!!
I will blog about that again soon - but at big WHOO HOOO is all I need to say for now.
What a big boy!
The boys love their dad.

My cowboys. Dad has a favorite team and thinks that he may be able to brainwash they kids at a young age. Here is a picture of the boys in their cowboy gear. Thanks for checking in on us. More to come this week!

Daddy's Socks

Braxton loves to wear his daddy's socks. Andy cam just take off his shoes and Braxton is right there to help him take off his socks. Braxton gets dads socks off and then he sits down and puts them on himself. He is such a big boy. He likes to walk around the house with dads socks on.
I just can not believe how big he is getting. He is doing well with potty training. We starting hitting it hot and heavy again on Tuesday after our fun trip. He has not had on a diaper (with exception of bed time) since Tuesday. He is doing so well. He has only had one accident! I am so proud of my big boy.
Thanks for sharing in these memories with us. These truly are special time and I look forward to each and everyday. It is exciting to get up and see what new things these boys will grant me. They are such a blessing. I love these boys - what more can I say!

Hepin Andrish

Braxton's vocabulary is increasing everyday. He loves to talk and is putting together sentence left and right. He loves to help when you are doing any and everything. He is a great big brother. He comes in and talks to Brazos and says - talkin baby mama. Brazos loves Braxton and just smiles at everything he does. They are precious and we are blessed to have them both.
Andrea has been making salsa for us and Braxton has taken it upon himself to help. These pictures are of Braxton and Andrea making salsa. I came in the kitchen to have him tell me "hepin Andrsih - mama" he is such a big help.
Thanks for being such a good heper Braxton!

Laborless Weekend

We had a great weekend. We went to Tulsa this weekend and met up with MeMe and PaPaw, Uncle Brent, Aunt Cheryl, and cousin Karson. We had a big time. Brent rode his horse in a competition there and we were able to watch. He did well. We enjoyed each others company. We went to the zoo and had a great time. The boys love to play and looked like they had a great time this weekend playing with each other. Here are some pictures from our trip.
