Update on Braxton

Well we went to the allergist on Wednesday and got some good news and some bad news. The good news is that the Braxton's food allergies have really gone down quite a bit. He is no longer allergic to milk - there is still a hint but not like before. The egg allergy is still there and because of that we can once again not take the flu shot. Most of the other food allergies were gone except for peanuts. The peanuts one is a bad one because it will never go away and it will only continually get worse over time. I am going to have to keep a better eye on that one.
Brazos saying cheese - sorry this one is blurry!
We were glad to hear that the food allergies were better but at the same time we were sadden to hear that the airborne allergies were off the charts. He is allergic to everything that they tested him for. The doctor said that it was one of the worse cases of allergies that he has ever seen. To top that off he also confirmed that the asthma there and we will continue treatments for that. The doctor wanted to see him when he is at his worse so he will know what the plan of action should be. He said that we are coming into the good time of the year for his allergies and that the spring was going to be bad. We had an appointment in the early spring so that can put him on preventive medicine to help in get through the spring and summer.
Well although thing did not go the exact way we had planned we did come away with some promise. The vent is helping and we will continue all this expensive medicine while it continues to work.

It's a good thing Braxton has his handsome, good looks going for him. He has handeled it well. We are thankful that we live in a country that can make the best of this situation!

Sorry to hear about Braxton's allergies! Just in case I forget to bring this up, Connie, Steve and Jeanette see a chiropractor in Altoona for allergies, and he can de-sensitize or cure people of allergies. You might want to talk to one of them about it...after treatments they both have been feeling a lot better. I'm not sure how it works, but one of them should be able to tell you more.

Hey! Just stopped by to check on you guys, and I wanted to say how sorry I am that you guys have to go through this, too. It's so hard to watch your child suffer through the asthma and seasonal allergies, and then to have the food allergies on top of that. We're very thankful to only have the milk and egg allergy and not the peanut since that one is typically the most severe. Hang in there!
