Just plain fun

I have not done very well with taking pictures lately. Our weather has started to warm up lately and we have been enjoying more time outside. We almost got up to 70 this week. Maybe soon enough. Braxton loves to be outside and never wants to come back in. We are trying to play as much as we can before we rock his world.

Cousin Karson (Andy's sister Cheryl's son) and Braxton cooking in Lamesa in MeMe's kitchen. We have another stress test today and a million things to get done.
I am hosting a baby welcome for Logan tomorrow and just need to get everything done.
Rosa and Logan came and played yesterday. It was a lot of fun, but mom was very tired last night and ready for bed. Will try to post again tomorrow with the results of our stress test and pictures from the shower.

Cousin Karson

Here is a picture of Braxton helping me cook supper for Andy. He is really growing up!

We had a really fun time in Paris. Cousin Karson came over to visit and we played very hard. Here are some of the pictures from our few days together.

It seems that since we got back we have been running non stop. We had another stress test Friday - it went well. brazos is making a name for himself as the baby who will not cooperate with the nurses and their monitors. He is very active and already seems to have a mind of his own. We had another one today and it was also okay. We go back Friday for the second one for the week. Other than that things seem to be going well. The OB doctor said everything looks fine so I go back again next Friday. After that we will start our weekly visits.

Last night we went to dinner with some people from Andy's work. Andy was honored for some patents that he had been awarded both in the US and Europe. He started on these back in 2001 and 2002 and they are just now being awarded and honored. It was a nice dinner and they are very proud of the work he has done and continues to do. We were definitely the youngest ones there, I think the next ones closest to us in age are a good 15-20 years older than we are. It is nice to see how much they appreciate Andy. I know he likes his job and that is a nice feeling.

We have 5 weeks left from today to get everything in order around the house. We are working hard. Things seem to be going smoother than I thought they would. I know it will be a lot easier once LTC is over. We have 2 weeks left till we will have conquered another year. I will try to be better this week with posting.

A few more pictures

Here are a few more pictures from the first half of our week. I have more with cousin Karson, MeMe and Papaw that will come later. These are fun. Braxton loved the sheep, cows and dogs. He made sure we went to feed with Da every day. He loved being outside. It is still a little cool here to get out - out high today is 40. We hope it warms up soon so we can get outside. We have a doctor appointment today and also another stress test. Will post later on what we find out. Have a great day!

Behind

I am still behind in getting everything posted. I will have pictures from our trip sooner or later. This week has been good so far. Braxton is cutting some more teeth. This has been another experience - he has had a runny nose and a fever. Today has been better than the last two. It comes and goes in spurts. He is adding about a word a day to his vocabulary. This has been a lot of fun to watch. He just points and says what he is pointing at. He is understanding baby a little more. I still think he is in for the shock of his life when Brazos arrives.
The stress test I had on Tuesday went well. Brazos did not want to cooperate. He kept kicking off the monitor so instead of 20 minutes it was an hour and 15 minutes. We go back to the doctor on Friday, we also have another stress test then as well.
That's all for now. More to come - pictures too - I promise!

Missed Birthdays!

With all the travels and adventures we missed a couple of birthdays and need to say Happy Birthday to a couple of people.

Happy Birthday to Brent - cousin Karson's dad. Uncle Brent stays busy with his horses and has been doing well. We wish him good luck with all of the up coming contests. We hope to see you in OKC in May.

Happy Birthday Da (dad) we are glad we were there for your special day. You are a special man to us and we are happy we got to spend some time with you this week. All the adventures make our lives full of stories and special memories. Good luck this week with your class and test!

Still working on getting everything together to post new pictures. I need to get some from aunt Andrea and Cheryl. I will get some posted this week.
I am sure I could say more but it will all come out this week some time.

Home again!

It really does amaze me just how fast time flies. I know I say it a lot but every time I look up I feel like two weeks have gone by and I am just sitting here. We (Braxton and I) made it back to Iowa with no problems. Dad was waiting at the airport for us with flowers and new toys for us. He is such a wonderful man. We missed him a lot over the last week. Braxton was ready to play. He had a good week and played hard. He slept from Commerce to the airport and then from KC to Iowa so he was ready for some R & R. He and dad played hard when we got home. I think they were both ready to see each other.
Thanks dad for allowing us to go to Paris and spend time with our family there. We have a lot of new and exciting things to write about and they will all come in the next week or so. We had a good time and got to spend a lot of time with the family. I am so glad we have that time!
Exciting news, we will soon have two new cousins on the Cagle side!!! They will be arriving in October. Thanksgivings are going to be growing for a while - what fun it will be in just a few short years! Congratulations to the Spencer's on the new additions.
It is late and time for bed. More to come this week!

God is so good!

Today has proved to be a very busy day! We have run like crazy and there is still more to come. Here are the updates that we know so far.
Braxton's test for diabetes came back negative! Thank you God. However, he has lost 10 ounces over the last 3 weeks and they were very concerned about that. We have been working on his weight for over 6 months and it has been a struggle. They finally decided today that we need to see a nutritionist. I asked to see one 5 months ago and they told me that they only refer sever cases on - but today it was their idea! So when we get back from our trip we will have a few test run and start meeting with the nutritionist. I am glad to finally do this because I think they will be able to help me find more things that he can eat so that he can grow.
We were there for almost 2 hours. I took Braxton to visit Rosa while I went to my OB appointment. Things also went well there. I am still losing some weight and we are working to get that better. She did say that they would most likely do an ultrasound around 36-37 weeks to make sure that Brazos is not getting to big. We are about a month away from that. They will check on his size then and decided then if they will move the date up or not but for now it will stay at May 2.
The stress test went well everything checked out okay. We will have two a week starting when we get back from our trip until the baby is born. I left the office there at 12:30 and had to go to work to get my cell phone that I left there. We left there and met dad for lunch. We got home about 2:00 and played outside till 3.
I called in my sugar numbers and they increased my insulin some more. I asked the doctor today and she said that the increases were normal and they would most likely continue until the baby comes because my body needs more insulin as the baby grows.
We are packed and ready to go. We are just waiting on dad to get home and we will head over to KC for the evening. We fly out at 10:40 tomorrow. We are looking forward to seeing everyone.
I will try to keep up the blog while we are gone.

What to do?

Well things are going well with the diabetes. We are still working to get that morning sugar under control, but it is just taking time. I have my next OB appointment tomorrow and the first of many stress tests. I hope things go well. This will be the first of the two week appointments. After a month we will go to one week appointments until he gets here.
Braxton has been drinking like I don't know what. He seems to be drinking and peeing all the time. I did some research and found that this is a major symptom of diabetes. I called the doctor and they suggest that we go ahead and have him tested. I think it would be best -better to know now than to have issues later. We go at 9:00 in the morning to have the test. My first stress test is at 11:00 so I hope that his test will be a stress relief!
Everything else is going well. I will let you know tomorrow how things went!

More insulin

Well the weekend was a good one. We were able to spend the day Saturday as a family - that was really nice. We like it when daddy is able to be at home on the weekends. I did some work from home and I PASSED my test so I could renew my drivers license. It was close but I did pass! We took food to one of the shut-ins from church and visited with her for an hour or so, we went and walked the mall so I could get some exercise, and just had a really good day enjoying each other. It was a good day.

Sunday was also a good and very busy day. With LTC here Sundays are often very short. By the time we get home, eat lunch, and get Braxton down for a nap it is time to get up and get to church for the 4:00 practice. Practice runs till church time and it is time for supper, home for the weekly phone call with the in-laws, and bed time. It is good and it keeps us on our toes. We always look forward to LTC time and all the excitement it brings, but we are also thankful when it has ended and we have closed another year.

Today has been a good day. Braxton and I were a little under the weather this morning with something we ate last night, it did not last long thankfully. We were better in time to go the the library for a Book with baby time. We came home and did some work from home and just enjoyed a day together. Braxton is working his way to one nap a day. It has both pros and cons. I called my diabetes doctor today as my numbers have been running high and I have had ketones every day in the last week. She once again upped my insulin. I am now up to 4 shots a day and the amount has once again been increased. She is hopeful that this will work. I also hope so. I am ready to get some regulation with the sugar.

More information to come later!

OOPS!

What can I say but that I forgot! With all that has been going on in the last 5-6 months, with the pregnancy, work and just life in general I seemed to have forgotten to renew my drivers license. I was talking with Amy about a week ago and we were talking about Jorge renewing his license and the picture, it was a light bulb moment for me. I told Amy that I thought I had forgot to renew my license back in December! Not a big deal in most cases other than if you let it go to long you have to re-take the written test. I did some research to find out that sure enough I messed up!
We have a lot of things to do today but one big thing on our list is to get mom a new drivers license. I have been reading this week and really hope I can pass the test. Pray for me!
The results to come!
More pictures of Braxton above. He found the stash of pacificers and thought he needed 5 this time. The other is of him in his cool new glasses and hat.

Early Morning

What can I say other than I am told I am paying for my raising. Braxton is an early riser. He likes to get up and going most (all) days between 6:15 - 6:30 on a great morning we will make it to 7:00 - this is only about once a month. It is good for us to get up and going, I just wish some mornings we could choose to sleep until we were ready to get up! I know he is just preparing us for Brazos. He does not us to get in a habit of sleeping late knowing that there is a baby on the way. He is so full of energy. He is a wonderful boy and we thank God daily that he is in good health and has so much to give.

Here are a few pictures from the zoo. We have been to the zoo quite a bit but this time he really seemed to enjoy the trip much more this time.

The snanke was really wanting to smell Braxton. He was cool in his glasss and hat - ready to go. He wanted to walk most of the outside part so I put the harnase on him - he is just to quick! The other pictureis of the goats that wanted to share his snack with him.

Sunshine

The sun was out today!! Thank you GOD!! We had a good day. We went to work this morning, it was good to go in a little early and get things done. We let about 1:00 and went to pick up Rosa and Logan. We all went to the Zoo. I will have pictures tomorrow. We had a good time, the zoo here is really small so we can usually get through it in about an hour. Braxton crashed on the way home and is still sleeping. It has been a good day. The temperatures are suppose to drop again tomorrow and be back in the 40's but today we enjoyed the sunshine and our 60 degree day.

I spoke with my diabetes doctor today. My morning numbers were still high. She decided to increase my evening insulin by a little to see if we can get the number down. She also decided that it would be good to start taking another shot before breakfast. I asked if we should try to increase the evening amount first to see if that would work before we went to two shots, she did not seem to think that would be enough and wanted me to start the other shot. So I will move to another insulin shot tomorrow morning. I know this is the best for the baby I just wish I could control it without having to do the shots.

Everything else is going well. More pictures to come tomorrow.
